About

At ClimateFood we are passionate about regenerative farming to improve our climate, our food and ourselves.

WHAT IS REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE?

Regenerative Agriculture is food and fabric produced in a way that actively improves soil health, nutrient availability for the plant and carbon sequestration.

Most conventional farming practices rely on intensive synthetic fertilisers, herbicides and fungicides. These practices are destroying our food quality and releasing carbon into the atmosphere as well as trapping farming families in an unsustainable economic cycle.

We believe through education, innovation and collective engagement in supporting better Agricultural Practices, we can change the quality of our food, change our climate and improve soil, animal and human health.

WHAT WE DO

At ClimateFood we provide support for Regenerative Farmers and companies climate mitigation requirements through Education, Compliance mitigation briefings and programs, Marketing, Capital Raising and Advocacy.

WHY WE DO

It would require only half a percent increase in soil carbon on 2 percent of our agricultural land to sequester all of Australia’s CO2 emissions.”  — Dr Christine Jones

Our planet is faced with huge challenges..

We are suffering from the damaging effect of Climate Change..

We have lost considerable amounts of arable land due to desertification and soil depletion..

We have nutrient poor crops and we need to feed a booming population…

We believe that soil regeneration is the key to many of these problems. The best way to improve our soil on a large scale is to support the caretakers of the land – our farmers!

REGENERATIVE FARMING CREATES POSITIVE ENVIRONMENTAL, ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL OUTCOMES. WE ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT PROMOTING THE PRINCIPLES OF REGENERATION AND SUPPORTING THOSE WHO ARE CREATING A BETTER PLANET FOR ALL.

REGENERATIVE

MANY OF THE EXTRAORDINARY STORIES OF REGENERATIVE FARMING ARE YET TO BE TOLD.. THAT IS WHY WE EXIST.. STAY TUNED.. THERE ARE MANY MORE TO COME!

Here are some of the pioneers and visionaries who are changing the way we think about agriculture.

Dr Christine Jones I have enormous respect for the farmers and ranchers who have done what the experts say can’t be done.

If we have a future, it will be largely due to the courage and determination of these individuals.”

— Dr Christine Jones

Dr Christine Jones is an Australian soil ecologist who has been working with farmers for decades to regenerate soil, sequester carbon and improve landscape health and productivity. You can read more about her work at AMAZING CARBON.

Here is Allan Savory of the SAVORY INSTITUTE talking about desertification and holistic management.

Ultimately, the only wealth that can sustain any community, economy or nation is derived from the photosynthetic process – green plants growing on regenerating soil.”— Allan Savory

Here are the results of holistic management in practice in Mexico

Humans can’t eat grass, but cattle, thanks to their microscopic partners, are performing the service of turning inedible grasses into protein that we can eat.”  — Judith D Shwartz

Australian Farmer Col Seis is the inventor of the Regenerative Agricultural practice of Pasture Cropping. He has been regenerating soil on his farm, Winona, for over 20 years. See his story below.
